  • Singing Stones – Pattern & Kit

    USD $5.29
Singing Stones are one of nature’s curiosities. These musical rocks are formed from molten lava that is subject to stresses and strains as it cools. The internal tension increases the rocks’ ability to transmit vibrations - music! The dancing rhythm of the mosaic pattern teamed with the multi-coloured marled yarn makes me think of music, hence, Singing Stones.

These fingerless mittens have been designed to work with our magically marled Chimera yarn and a complementing solid. The mosaic pattern is charted and very simple to follow. The colourwork is created by slipping stitches. What could be easier?!
Here you can purchase the printed pattern (and a downloadable copy) with or without the yarn to make the fingerless mittens.

See below for all the details.
  • Are you a devoted sock knitter who is short on time? Or perhaps you want to conquer your fear of the afterthought heel? The Instant Sock Pot is here to warm your feet, or those of your loved ones - all you need to do is add heels and toes!

The 72-stitch sock tubes are made from some of our iconic hand-dyed colourways and have been hand-cranked by us on a vintage Foster Victoria circular sock machine in our studio. A contrast mini skein colour has already been picked for you to add the perfect complement to your chosen colourway. We’ve also included a full tutorial complete with photos showing each step on the way to a finished pair of socks.
  • This snuggly round blanket is worked with a reversible cable design so there is no right and wrong side. On one side the cables “pop” and the other side has a pleasing rippled effect.
  • Narrow Escape is a deceptively simple design that is easy to wear and fun to knit. The asymmetric wedges are perfect for playing with multiple colours or gradient sets and create a lot of visual interest in the finished item. They are created by working short rows and the clean, modern look is finished off with an i-cord bind off. Yarn needs will vary depending on how many colours you choose. A simple 2 colour version will take less than 100g of each colour, in 4 ply / fingering weight yarn.
  • Wavewalking Socks came about when I wanted to knit a simple cabled sock that would show up well in a hand dyed variegated yarn. Being a boat-dweller, the pattern reminded me that I am always walking on waves! Choose your own favourite hand dyed yarn and clothe your feet in cosy colours :-) The socks knit up quickly with the interest of the eyelet cable to keep you going. You can choose whether to have a plain cuff or make a feature of the eyelet ribbing. And the best thing is, the pattern is written toe up and top down, so you can make these no matter what your preferred method is!
  • Bobble Marley is a quick and fun hat, great for playing with multiple colours. It uses a set of 6 mini skeins, with two colours held together at all times to create a marbled effect. The leftovers are used to make a generously sized bobble. Sizes Child (Adult) fits approx. head size 19in / 48cm (22in / 56cm) Yarn 6 skeins of RiverKnits BFL 4 Ply Mini (20g / 80m per mini skein) or suitable fingering weight yarn
